How each Flower Ballerina is made
Each ballerina is made by hand, one at a time. We start with soy wax, which we melt with care, tint in the chosen shade and pour into the mold that shapes the girl, her ruffled skirt, the flowers around her and the round base. The wick is set, the wax rests for as long as it needs to settle and solidify, and only then do we unmold the piece by hand, patiently, so that no petal and no ruffle loses its shape.
Then we finish each piece individually: we clean the finest reliefs, check the surface and make sure it has that soft, matte finish our candles are known for. She is a figure with a great deal of detail, and precisely because of that each one keeps small nuances of its own. No two are exactly alike.
A little piece of Mallorca
The Flower Ballerina is born in Mallorca. We work from the island, unhurried, at the calm pace that comes from living among the sea, Mediterranean light and gardens that bloom almost all year round. We like to think that some of that calm and that light stays inside every piece that leaves our hands.
