How My Christening Bear is made
Each bear is made by hand from soy wax. The wax is melted, poured into the mould that shapes the bear, the hat, the flowers, the heart and the gift, and the details are tuned in blue. After the rest the wax needs to settle, we unmould it carefully to preserve the fine reliefs — the knit of the hat, the petals of the roses — and finish it by hand until it has that soft, matte look.
It’s a figure with many small details, and putting them together well takes time. That’s why each bear keeps nuances of its own: the mark of the handmade, one at a time.
